Basic Income Ireland are pleased to announce that we will be running a series of  events across Ireland during Sept 2018.

Please come along if there is an event near you. The events are free and you can listen to our proposals about basic income and take part in discussion.

We are starting in Ballinasloe and Tobercurry on Sept 6 and we will add details here as we get them. If there is no local contact given, please email us at basicincomeireland@gmail.com for details.

Fri Sept 14, Royal Irish Academy, Dawson St, Dublin, 6.15pm.

Frances Coppola will examine the economic potential which could be unlocked in Ireland by offering its citizens the security of a basic income. Coppola is an internationally-acclaimed economics commentator, writer, musician, and former banking professional and she writes the Coppola Comment blog: www.coppolacomment.com. The event will be chaired by journalist and broadcaster Vincent Browne.

Sat Sept 15, Books Upstairs, D’Olier St, Dublin 2. 10am to noon.
The Forum takes place on the morning after Frances Coppola’s public lecture. We will spend some time reflecting on what Frances had to say and drawing out relevant aspects for the current situation in Ireland. We will also have a short participatory  exercise and two inputs,one on Women and Basic Income and the other on Basic Income and the Artist. These will be interwoven with poetry and musical pieces.  Weather permitting this will be followed by a picnic lunch in Merrion Square at the Basic Income Ireland Tree.

Sunday Sept 16 Derry. Zero Waste Event.
There will be an information stall about basic income. Check our website and facebook page for further details closer to the time.

Talk and discussion. The Sustainable Communities Festival is taking place that day and BII will also have a stall at the festival until 3pm.
